Re: GMRS Licensing Assistance
The process for obtaining a Radio Station License
for GMRS from the Federal Communications Commission has become simplified
with somewhat recent changes, such as Universal Licensing System (ULS),
Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) Registration, and the new FCC
Form 605.
This process can be done manually, or online. The cost appears to be $75 for a 5 year license.
You will need to complete FCC Form 605 “Quick Form Application
for Authorization in the Ship, Aircraft, Amateur, Restricted and Commercial
Operator, and the General Mobile Radio Services,” and FCC Form 606
“TIN Registration Form.”
I have copies of both forms available, and can assist
you in completing them. You
may also get a wealth of information from the licensing section of
the Personal Radio Steering Group (PRSG) website, www.provide.net/~prsg/license.htm.
Please feel free to call me or contact me via radio,
if I can be of any assistance.
